Design is typically the purview of a human being. That said, it's possible to add a level of quantification to design based metrics.

Training data is annotated by a team of designers and this information is used to train a reinforcement model. The system is then used to give ratings to packaging design based on its aesthetic and positive sentiment.

It doesn't replace the need for a human filtering stage, but it speeds up design selection.
